Not everyone is in a position to adopt or foster, but you can still make a life-changing difference.
By sponsoring one of our long-term foster dogs or a dog with ongoing medical needs, you're helping provide the care they need while they wait for their forever family. Your sponsorship helps cover essentials like food, veterinary care, medications, rehabilitation, treats, enrichment, training, and other daily expenses.
Many of our dogs come from difficult circumstances and require weeks—or even months—of healing, rehabilitation, or behavioral support before they're ready for adoption. Others have chronic medical conditions that require lifelong care. Your support ensures they receive everything they need without compromising their recovery.
Whether you choose to sponsor a specific dog or contribute to our medical care fund, every donation has a direct impact on the lives of dogs in our rescue.

Long Term Fosters
Avalanche
Avalanche has been in our care since February 27, 2026. She arrived pregnant and safely gave birth to and raised her puppies with us. Now that every one of her puppies has found a loving forever home, it's finally Avalanche's turn.
She needed a little extra time, patience, and love before she was ready for adoption, and the progress she has made has been incredible. Avalanche is a goofy, active, and affectionate girl who loves adventures just as much as snuggling up afterward. She is still a little timid around some men but continues to gain confidence every day.
After spending over five months learning what it means to be loved, Avalanche is ready to find a forever family of her own. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for an active, loyal best friend.
Avalanche is currently our longest-term foster resident and is being fostered in Black Creek, BC with her brother, B2.
B2
B2 has been in our care since May 8, 2026. While he has made wonderful progress, he is still looking for a very patient and understanding home—or he may remain in foster care a little longer until he's ready.
B2 is an incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving boy who has formed a strong bond with his foster mom. He remains very timid around new people, especially men, and is still fearful of collars and leashes, so he will need an adopter committed to continuing his confidence-building and positive training.
Having another confident, friendly dog in the home helps B2 immensely. He takes comfort from canine companions and gains confidence by following their lead, so a home with another well-adjusted dog would be ideal for him.
Every day B2 becomes a little braver. With time, patience, and kindness, he has all the potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. He just needs someone willing to let him move at his own pace and continue showing him that the world is a safe place.
B2 is being fostered in Black Creek, BC with his sister, Avalanche.
Gizmo
Gizmo has been in our care since April 24, 2026. She is a sweet, gentle girl who has made incredible progress with her foster family but is still looking for a very patient and understanding forever home.
Having grown up as a free-roaming community dog with limited positive experiences with people, Gizmo remains timid and is still learning to trust. She absolutely must have another confident dog in her home, as she relies on canine companionship for confidence and security.
Once she feels safe, Gizmo's playful personality shines. She is goofy, loves children, and will happily greet her people with excitement when they come home.
Gizmo is still a flight risk and will require a securely fenced yard, careful management around doors and gates, and continued positive training with her collar and leash. She may remain in foster care while she continues to build confidence, or she may find a special adopter willing to continue her journey. With patience, love, and another dog by her side, Gizmo has everything she needs to become a wonderful family companion.

Dogs with Medical Needs
Zelda
Zelda came into our care after her owner made the incredibly difficult and selfless decision to surrender her during a challenging time in their life, wanting only the very best future for their beloved girl.
Zelda has food and environmental allergies that require lifelong management. She thrives on a carefully selected diet, regular medicated baths, and ongoing allergy care. Because of her allergies and light-coloured coat, she is also very sensitive to the sun and wears UV-protective shirts when spending time outdoors to keep her comfortable.
She is an incredibly loyal and devoted dog who forms strong bonds with her people. Like many dogs of her breed, Zelda can be protective of those she loves. Her foster family has been working hard to build her confidence and help her understand that she and her people are safe, so she doesn't feel the need to take on that responsibility herself.
Despite these challenges, Zelda is one of the sweetest, cuddliest, and most affectionate dogs we've had the privilege of caring for. She loves to play, soak up attention, and be close to her people. She has made wonderful progress in foster care and continues to grow every day.
At this time, Zelda isn't quite ready for her forever home unless it's with someone who has experience with her breed and understands her training and behavioural needs. Until that perfect match comes along, she'll continue receiving all the love, support, and care she deserves with Snow Dog Rescue Society.
Rascal
Rascal has been in our care for a short time, but unfortunately his adoption journey has been temporarily paused while he recovers from an injury sustained during an incident with off-leash dogs.
Thankfully, his injury was not as severe as first feared. He has been in a splint for about a month and has a few more weeks to go before beginning rehabilitation for his ankle. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Because of his injury, Rascal will need to remain in foster care until he has fully healed. Despite this setback, he is a sweet, affectionate, and active boy who loves being with his people. He listens well and is making steady progress with his wonderful foster family. The experience has understandably made him a little more timid around some other dogs, but his confidence continues to grow each day.
Rascal is currently fostered in Squamish, BC, and we look forward to finding him the perfect forever home once he is healed.
