Adoption Profile

Background

B2 is under a year old and spent his entire life living outdoors with his pack until recently. Home life is completely new to him, but thanks to his wonderful foster—who is caring for both him and his sister Gizmo—he is beginning to adjust with gentle curiosity and growing confidence.

B2 and his sisters, Avalanche and Gizmo, were the last remaining dogs from their original pack. Coming into rescue has been a major transition for them as they learn safety, stability, and the meaning of family for the very first time.

Last month, B2 and his father were intentionally struck by an ATV after wandering too far from their community. B2 suffered a painful femur fracture, while his father sustained a severe front-leg injury that tragically left him unable to defend himself against other wild dogs. His father did not survive the attack. Despite this profound trauma, B2 has shown remarkable resilience, gentleness, and bravery for such a young pup.

At his veterinary assessment, we learned that B2’s fractured femur has been healing on its own for the past month. The healing progress is encouraging and surgery is not required, but he will need continued care and monitoring to support a full recovery. He is currently on pain medication for the next couple of weeks and must remain on restricted movement for at least another month to protect his healing leg.

B2’s name stands for Birch 2, lovingly given because he resembles his father, Birch—known in the community as Beats. The community who cared for this family named all of the pups, and B2 carries his dad’s name proudly as he begins this new chapter.

Description

B2 is a sensitive young husky mix who is just now beginning to learn how good life can be. He’s living in a house for the very first time—discovering the joy of regular meals, having his first bath, and being surrounded by other dogs who simply want to be his friend.

He is still learning to trust and get comfortable in his new environment, taking everything one gentle step at a time. We’re learning more about him every day, and he continues to show us how resilient, soft-hearted, and deserving he truly is.

He also has a few adorable nocturnal tendencies—common in dogs who lived most of their lives outdoors. Sometimes he’s a little more alert or active at night, but with routine and reassurance, he’s already beginning to adjust to the rhythm of indoor family life.

🐶 Dog Friendly

Yes — he has been adjusting well to his new foster brothers.

🐱 Cat Friendly / Prey Drive

Has been non-reactive with his new cat housemates so far

👧 Kid Friendly

A little nervous at first but has been good with the older children he has met.

🦮 Leash Skills

Still adjusting to walking on a leash — learning at his own pace.

🚻 House Trained

Yes — he has already learned how to ask to go outside.

🍖 Food & Training

Has shown some food guarding with his sister Gizmo, which is understandable given his background. This will likely improve as he learns that food is safe and always available.

🚗 Vehicle Behaviour

Has only ridden in a car a couple of times while crated, but he did well.

🐾 Other Notes

  • B2 is a very recent rescue and still adapting to life as an indoor dog.

  • He tends to warm up to women a little faster than men.

  • Slow to trust, but with gentle patience, his sweetness shines through.

  • His healing femur fracture requires ongoing care: continued rest, restricted activity, and short-term pain medication to support recovery.

  • Has some nocturnal gremlin tendencies, but is adjusting well as he learns what nighttime is supposed to feel like in a safe home.
