Foster Application Process
Fostering saves lives. By opening your home to a rescue dog, you're providing a safe, loving environment while they wait for their forever family. Our rescue provides ongoing support throughout the foster journey.
1. Submit a Foster Application
Complete our foster application so we can learn about your home, lifestyle, experience, and the type of dog that would be the best fit.
2. Application Review
Our team reviews your application and contacts suitable applicants to discuss fostering, answer any questions, and help match you with a dog that fits your home and experience.
3. Virtual Home Check
We'll ask you to provide photos and videos of your home and yard (if applicable) so we can ensure the environment is safe and suitable for a foster dog.
4. Welcome Your Foster Dog
Once approved, your foster dog will join your home. We'll provide any available medical records and everything they need to settle in comfortably.
5. Ongoing Support & Foster Responsibilities
Our team is here to support you every step of the way.
We cover all approved foster-related expenses, including:
Veterinary care
Food and treats
Crates, beds, leashes, collars, and other equipment
Toys and enrichment items
Approved medications and medical supplies
Other pre-approved expenses related to your foster dog's care
As a foster, you may be asked to:
Provide updates, photos, and videos for your foster dog's adoption profile.
Participate in meet-and-greets with approved potential adopters.
Share what you've learned about your foster dog's personality, routine, and needs to help us find the best possible match.
Transport your foster dog to adoption events, fundraisers, or community events when possible.
Assist with airport or ferry terminal pickups and drop-offs for incoming or outgoing foster dogs, when you're available.
6. Adoption Day
When your foster dog finds their forever family, we'll coordinate the adoption and transition. While saying goodbye can be bittersweet, you've played a vital role in giving them a second chance and opening your home to help save another life.
