Transportation Angels
Why Your Support Matters
Transportation of dogs is one of our most critical components of success to bring dogs into our care. This support is primarily through planes for flights, however, is often needed for ferries to get dogs to Vancouver Island, or by road to get dogs from point a to point b.
Typically, we are looking to ‘tag the dog’ onto existing flights, ferries and road transportation. However, there are times we will do a targeted travel plan for snow dog to cover the expenses of travel.
Flight
Typically, our ‘southern locations’ are Yellowknife, Edmonton, Ottawa and occasionally Winnipeg. You will be met at both airports by our volunteers, who will help you with checking in the dog in your departure location and to pick up the dog at the arrival destination.
We are typically interested in flights to Vancouver, Comox, Abbotsford and Victoria for arrivals cities.
Ferries
The Comox Valley is an important foster and adoption hub for us. If you are taking a ferry and have a reservation, we are very interested to be able to send dogs and supplies.
Road Transport
Typically, we are moving dogs from Victoria or Nanaimo to the Comox Valley, or the other direction.
