Adoption Profile
Background
Gizmo is under a year old and spent her entire life living outdoors with her pack until recently. Home life is completely new to her, but thanks to her wonderful foster — she is beginning to adjust with gentle curiosity and growing confidence.
Gizmo and her siblings, Avalanche and B2, were the last remaining dogs from their original pack. Coming into rescue has been a huge transition for them, as they learn safety, stability, and the meaning of family for the very first time.
Last month, Gizmo’s brother B2 and their father were intentionally struck by an ATV after wandering too far from their community. Gizmo was not injured, but she witnessed the aftermath of this trauma within her family. Their father suffered a severe front-leg injury and tragically did not survive. Despite everything she has endured and lost, Gizmo has shown incredible resilience, gentleness, and a quiet bravery that continues to shine through.
Gizmo recently received full veterinary care, including vaccines, deworming, and spay surgery. She is recovering well and already showing signs that she’s ready for the comfort and stability of a loving home.
Her name was lovingly given by the community who cared for her family — a name that now marks the beginning of a much safer chapter in her life.
Description
Gizmo is a sensitive and smart young husky mix who is just now discovering how good life can be. She’s living in a home for the very first time — learning about regular meals, soft beds, and the company of kind people and friendly resident dogs.
She is still building trust and adjusting to her new environment, taking things at her own pace. Every day in foster care teaches us something new about her sweet personality, and she continues to show us how gentle, intelligent, and deserving she truly is.
Gizmo is very dog social and would benefit from a k9 sibling to help her learn that people are safe. She is becoming very sassy and will let you know when she wants something very musically, she’s also learning to ask for belly rubs and general affection and is showing signs of becoming a velcro dog as she likes to shadow her person, but also happy to be left to her own company.

She tends to warm up slightly faster to women than men.
Slow to trust, but with gentle patience, her sweetness emerges beautifully.
Recovering well after spay surgery and continuing to grow more confident each day.
Has the cutest little nighttime gremlin energy that comes out in brief, harmless bursts of silliness.
