Background:

Raven came into our care through a rescue collaboration along with her mom Willow and her 9 siblings. They arrived needing extra care and support, and with the help of an amazing foster, they were able to grow healthy, safe, and loved.

Description:

Raven is an absolute sweetheart who loves her people more than anything. She is cuddly, affectionate, and always comes running with the biggest wiggles to greet you. 🥰 She loves belly rubs, playing with her toys (especially her hedgehogs 🦔), and is excellent at entertaining herself.

Raven is a typical playful puppy who has a funny “night gremlin” side. 😈 In the evenings she gets extra energetic, looks for mischief, and is still learning how to settle. Scheduled naps, physical activity and enrichment throughout the day have been helping her learn good habits.

🐕 Dog Friendly:

It depends. Raven enjoys meeting other dogs but is more focused on her people. She needs slow, respectful introductions and time to feel comfortable. If she becomes overwhelmed, she will communicate with growls or barks to ask for space.

🐱 Cat Friendly:

Yes. Raven has been around cats and has shown little interest in them so far.

🦌 Prey Drive:

No prey drive observed.

👧 Kid Friendly:

It depends. Raven would do best with dog-savvy children who understand puppy boundaries. When tired or overwhelmed, she can become growly and snippy. She is not currently a fan of being picked up or handled by children.

🦮 Leash Skills:

Raven walks well on leash but is still young and building confidence with longer walks.

🏡 House Trained:

Still a work in progress. Raven is learning house manners and is doing well using pee pads.

🍖 Food & Training:

Raven is not food picky and is very food motivated. She can be a bit of a grazer during meals but enjoys using treats for training. She knows “sit” and responds well to verbal recall and sound/whistle recall. Crate training is in progress and going well. 🐾

🚗 Vehicle Behaviour:

Raven travels well in the car and usually settles by sleeping during rides.

✨ Other Behaviours:

Raven is a curious puppy who loves to explore and will look for anything she can possibly eat! She is still learning puppy manners and how to make good choices.

Cranky when over tired and will need to be put in her crate to nap

Resource guards a bit, especially things she knows she shouldn't have or be doing

🛁 She is not a fan of bath time and has become very skilled at escaping the bathtub. Raven sleeps well through the night in her crate after some initial crying and continues to build confidence with being alone.

Raven is a little shadow who loves being near her people and is looking for a family who can continue her training, provide structure, and enjoy all the love, personality, and puppy mischief she brings. ❤️🐶
