Adoption Profile
Description
Mipsy is a very sweet and affectionate dog who is always excited to meet new people. She bonds deeply with her person and is very much a “people dog”—she consistently prefers the attention of her human over anything else. Cuddles and pets are always welcome, and she’s happiest when she’s close to her person.
She is very smart, eager to please, and has been progressing well with training. Mipsy loves to play—her outdoor favorite is her chuck-it, and indoors she keeps herself entertained with her giggle ball. She regularly invites her humans to join in on playtime.
Mipsy enjoys spending time in the yard, especially on nice days. She sleeps either beside the bed or at the foot of the bed and absolutely loves her morning pats and cuddles.
🐾 Dog Friendly
Mipsy has done very well with meeting new dog friends and plays nicely with them. She would do wonderfully in a home with dog companion.
🐱 Cat Friendly / Prey Drive
No known interactions with cats.
Has shown a bit of prey drive on walks
👧 Kid Friendly
Yes.
🦮 Leash Skills
Mipsy is still learning her leash skills and is working on reducing pulling. She responds well to a front-clip harness and can be redirected with treats.
🚻 House Trained
Mipsy is house trained
🍖 Food & Training
Mipsy is very intelligent, and with consistent routine and reinforcement she learns quickly.
She is currently working on:
Not jumping on people (including children, depending on age)
Reducing puppy behaviors such as mouthing hands when excited or seeking attention
Improving her leash manners
Other training notes:
Waits for permission before exiting the vehicle
Sits and waits politely for her food
Feeding:
She tends to eat quickly. Adding broth or pumpkin helps slow her down and supports a healthy gut.
She enjoys the occasional additional toppings of blueberries, yogurt, apples, bananas, and carrots.
No signs of pickiness to date.
🚗 Vehicle Behaviour
Mipsy does well during car rides but still requires a bit of encouragement to get into the vehicle. Treats help with motivation. She waits for permission before exiting.
🐾 Other Behaviours to Note
Mipsy is very well-natured but does experience some anxiety and looks to her person for reassurance.
She would benefit from:
Slow, positive introductions to new dogs
Plenty of daily exercise—at least two walks per day
Lots of playtime and enrichment activities
Without adequate exercise, she has difficulty relaxing. She is still learning how to decompress and settle.
Mipsy does have some anxiety when being left home alone but seems to do better with a dog companion in the home.
She is quite the escape artist true to her husky genes so will need a secure yard and/or yard supervision, especially while she settles.
