Adoption Profile

Background

Malina’s background is mostly unknown — she was rescued in Iqaluit and brought into our care for a fresh start and the chance at a loving home.

Description

Malina is a bright, energetic young husky–shepherd mix who thrives with routine, engagement, and companionship. She’s an affectionate, intelligent girl who bonds closely with her people and loves being included in daily life.

She walks well on leash and tends to stay close to her person, making her a lovely partner for walks, adventures, and exploring the world together. Like many young northern mixes, Malina needs regular daily activity—walks, playtime, outdoor time, and plenty of opportunities to burn off her youthful energy. She is also very smart and would benefit from ongoing mental stimulation and enrichment.

Malina is not a big fan of being left alone for long periods. With proper exercise, structure, and continued training, we’re confident she will continue to progress and eventually be comfortable being left alone for short periods if needed. She doesn’t love her crate at this time, but with the right approach and positive reinforcement, she may learn to settle in it for brief durations.

When her needs are met—physical exercise, enrichment, consistency, and a chance to decompress—Malina is responsive, sweet, and eager to please. She knows her basic commands and enjoys training, especially when rewarded with praise or treats she likes.
