Background

Jet, along with his siblings Gypsy, Ginger, and Jack, was surrendered by a caring community member in Kinngait, Nunavut, so they could travel to British Columbia in search of loving forever homes. After making the journey through Edmonton, Jet is now thriving in foster care on Vancouver Island, where he's been learning all about life as a cherished family dog.

Description

Jet is a sweet, sensitive boy with a heart that's completely devoted to his people. He's the kind of puppy who wants to be wherever you are, happily following you from room to room. If you're looking for a loyal companion, Jet is your guy.

Smart, curious, and incredibly food motivated, Jet loves learning new things and is eager to please. He enjoys playing tug, wrestling with other dogs, chewing on his favourite toys and bones, and would absolutely love a flirt pole to help burn off some puppy energy.

Jet is also wonderfully expressive. He's a bit of a dramatic soul who wears his heart on his sleeve. Whether he's excited, unsure, or asking for a little extra love, he'll make sure you know exactly how he's feels, and it's impossible not to smile. While he can be a little nervous in new situations, he warms up quickly with patience, encouragement, and a few tasty treats.

Yes! Jet loves playing and wrestling with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions.

🐱 Cat Friendly / Prey Drive

Yes, with proper introductions. Thanks to his young age, Jet has the potential to live successfully with cats. He has not shown any prey drive.

Yes! Jet is friendly with children and would do well in a family that can continue his training and provide appropriate supervision, as with any growing puppy.

🦮 Leash Skills

Jet is still learning his leash manners. He walks on leash but is excited to explore the world, stopping to sniff everything along the way. With consistency, he'll continue to improve.

🚻 House Trained

Jet is making good progress with house training. He is still learning and occasionally has accidents indoors, but he's well on his way with a consistent routine. He sleeps quietly in his pen overnight and during nap times.

🍖 Food & Training

Jet isn't picky about food and is highly food motivated, making training fun and rewarding. He already knows "sit" and is working on "down" and "come." He naturally likes to stay close to his person and is eager to learn. He does eat very enthusiastically and may benefit from using a slow feeder.

Unknown. Jet has not had enough opportunities to determine how he does during car rides.
