Background

Rebel, his sister Ripley, and two older dogs from the same mother were living outdoors in their community, relying on kind community members to feed them whenever they could. Thankfully, a caring resident was able to safely bring all four dogs to safety and reached out to Snow Dog Rescue for help.

Rebel and Ripley are also the siblings of Rocco and Remi, who were recently adopted through the rescue. Now safe in foster care, Rebel is getting the chance to experience life indoors, build his confidence, and prepare for the loving forever home he deserves.

Description

Rebel is an adorable, happy little guy who took a little time to warm up to new people, but his confidence has grown tremendously in foster care. He has blossomed into a funny, friendly, and affectionate boy whose goofy personality shines through every day.

He loves making dog friends and no longer needs slow introductions. Whether it's romping around at the dog park or playing with canine companions, Rebel is always ready to have fun.

One of Rebel's favourite things is water! He's an excellent paddle board companion, loves swimming, and if you leave the shower door open, don't be surprised if he tries to join you! 😅

Rebel is currently eating four meals a day but can easily transition to a different feeding schedule in his forever home. He is also working through some mild separation anxiety. While he may fuss for a few minutes when left alone, he settles nicely in his kennel and usually falls asleep. His kennel is one of his favourite places and serves as his safe space.

With a little patience and reassurance, Rebel has grown into a hilarious, loving, adventurous companion who is ready to find an active family to call his own.

🐾 Dog Friendly

Yes! Rebel loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them, especially at the dog park. He's social, playful, and happy to make new canine friends.

🐱 Cat Friendly / Prey Drive

Cat compatibility is unknown. He has not shown any prey drive in his foster home.

👧 Kid Friendly

Yes. Rebel is comfortable around children and is generally happy to be near them, though he tends to be fairly indifferent rather than overly excited.

🦮 Leash Skills

Rebel walks well on leash and enjoys getting out for adventures.

🚻 House Trained

Yes. Rebel is nearly fully house trained and prefers using the same bathroom spot outside. He has only had one accident indoors.

🍖 Food & Training

Rebel is not picky about food and is highly food motivated, making training enjoyable. He already knows "sit" and is eager to continue learning.

🚗 Vehicle Behaviour

Excellent traveller. Rebel rides calmly in the car when secured in his kennel.

• Initially shy with new people but has become a very friendly, funny, and affectionate boy.

• Loves his kennel and happily sleeps there at night.

• Currently working through mild separation anxiety but settles quickly when left alone.

• Absolutely loves the water—whether it's swimming, paddle boarding, or trying to hop into the shower with you! 😅

• Would thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, camping, paddling, and spending time outdoors.
