Background

 Jemma’s Helping Paws received a message asking for help with a group of puppies in need of a safe place to go. Jemma quickly connected with rescue partners and made the trip to Kehewin to bring them into care.

When she arrived, she was met on the side of the road with a box of six small puppies. They were tiny, covered in dirt, and clearly very frightened. They had been living in an outdoor trailer with their mom, relying solely on her care.

Jemma transported them to our volunteer Josh, where they were finally able to experience warmth, comfort, and life indoors. The puppies were seen by a veterinarian at the first available appointment. Five were healthy enough to receive their first vaccines, while one needed additional time and support. All were treated for parasites and started on medication to help them feel better.

They’ve since made their way to Vancouver and are now settling into loving foster homes—healing, growing, and slowly discovering what it means to feel safe and loved. Now healthy, vibrant, and playful, they’re truly the little rockstars they were always meant to be 💛🐾

Description

 Lenny is a sweet, soulful pup who loves people more than anything. He happily curls up in your lap for naps and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail.

Like any puppy, Lenny enjoys toys and is very food motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience. He sleeps through the night in a kennel or playpen and is comfortable being left alone for a few hours with toys. He is also doing well with pee pad training.

Lenny has all the makings of a true “heart dog”—a thoughtful, loving companion who will fit beautifully into a family ready to continue guiding him as he grows.
