Background

Jemma’s Helping Paws received a message asking for support with a group of puppies in need of a safe place to go. Jemma coordinated with partners and made the trip to Kehewin, where she was met on the side of the road with a box containing six tiny puppies. They were dirty, scared, and had been living in an outdoor trailer with their mom, relying entirely on her care.

They were brought to our volunteer, Josh, where they experienced warmth, comfort, and life indoors for the first time. At their vet appointment, five pups were healthy enough to receive their first vaccines right away, while one needed extra time and care. All were treated for parasites and started on medication to help them feel better.

Now in Vancouver, the puppies have settled beautifully into loving foster homes—healing, growing, and learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Today, they’re healthy, playful, and full of personality… truly the little rockstars they were meant to be. 💛🐾

Description

Halen is a playful, sweet, and goofy little pup. He loves wrestling with his brother and other dogs, often pouncing enthusiastically on pets, people, or toys—he’s always ready for fun!

He’s currently teething, so having chew toys on hand is a must. Halen sleeps soundly through the night in both his kennel and playpen. He can be left for a few hours with toys to keep him busy and consistently uses puppy pads.

This little guy will make an incredibly loving, loyal, and fun companion!
